For this Valentines Day fixture it would be more than fair to say that Blackburn loved the result far more than the Hibs.
And yet, in the first-half in particular, Craig Gilbert's side were by far the better side and had they been wearing their shooting boots then they could've been out of sight by the time the ref sounded his whistle.
Ten minutes into the second-half Keir Allan smacked the ball home from the edge of the big box to finally give his side the lead that was thoroughly deserved.
This appeared to give the home side a wake-up call and the longer the game went the more possession they enjoyed.
With seven minutes remaining good play by Andrew Jones allowed him the opportunity to level affairs with loud appeals from the visitors for offside falling upon deaf ears.
And if that was bad enough for Thornton then worse was to follow just two minutes later as Scott Richards headed home Daryl Meikle's free-kick.
This result means that Thornton have slipped down a place in the league to third spot so they will be looking for a better outcome when they visit sixth place Edinburgh South next Saturday for their FIFTH away league game on the trot.
