It was the Capital side who adapted better to the gusty winds that hammered Memorial Park and this victory allowed them to leapfrog the Hibs into second spot in the First Division.

Stuart Martin came close to giving the visitors an early lead with a volley that whizzed just wide of its intended target and the Hibs responded to this through Stuart Drummond whose header from Dean McMillan wasn't far away from counting.

The deadlock was broken in the 16th minute with Martin's effort being deflected past Macauley Jarrett in the home goal.

Martin saw another effort strike the top of the crossbar before Garry Thomson twice came close to equalising.

Lewis Rodger twice sent in corner kicks that almost resulted in goals. First Drummond headed wide then Thomson saw his attempt saved by Lewis Whitelaw. It was a case of 'third time lucky' for Rodger though who provided the cross on the hour mark that was perfect for Ross Hain to volley the ball past Whitelaw to level affairs.

Seven minutes later Aiden Davies netted what turned out to be the winner from close range after Jarrett had tipped Charlie Stewart's header onto the crossbar.
