The Hibs' reward for this narrow victory is another away tie (their ninth of the season compared to three at home) versus either Musselburgh Athletic or Kinnoull on a date to be advised.
The first goal-scoring opportunity fell to the home side's Dylan Walker with Craig Doctor being equal to the task then at the other end it was Ben Duffield who prevented Jamie McNeish from breaking the deadlock. Stuart Drummond headed Daniel McNab's corner kick over the crossbar before Doctor denied Walker again with Jaxson Lawrie smacking the loose ball above its intended target.
Midway through the second-half there was a bizarre moment. Star defender, Andy Cameron, went down with what looked like a bad head knock that resulted in players from both sides signalling to the technical area that he'd suffered a 'dull ane'. Certainly he looked pretty groggy as he was helped off. After a period of time the player felt he was fit to continue however the referee thought otherwise and allegedly some industrial language was used with a red card immediately being shown.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 80th minute after Stuart Drummond netted a penalty that was awarded for a handball offence.
