Make no mistake – this scoreline did not flatter the home side as it could've been even more but for some excellent goalkeeping by Craig Doctor. By contrast his opposite number – Sam Ramsbottom – only had two shots to save in the entire game.
It was Michael Weir who netted the opener in the 5th minute after Doctor had done well to stop his first attempt and by the 19th minute Scott Hynd doubled his side's lead with a low drive that took the paint off the inside of the upright before hitting the back of the net.
Just three minutes at the back of that a close in volley by Jack Sharples meant that it was practically job done with three quarters of the game still to go.
Sean Heaver completed the scoring in the 61st minute and although Garry Thomson thought he'd netted a consolation goal near the end, the referee completed the Hibs day of woe by ruling it out because of offside.
