Thornton Hibs v Ormiston Primrose

East of Scotland Football League - Second Division

Match reporter: JOHN LAING

For the second time in six weeks, the Hibs experienced the joy of six with Robbie Westwaters being the biggest thorn in Ormiston's side as he claimed his first ever hat-trick in a green and white jersey.

And Westwaters also had a big say in Thornton's first goal when, in the 11th minute, he was brought down in the box by Guy Kerr with Stuart Drummond sticking away the resultant penalty.

Thornton came close to extending this lead several times but it wasn't until the 39th minute that Westwaters ran clear onto Andy McCallion's pass and shot low past the advancing Kieran Beveridge.

Westwaters claimed his second goal six minutes after the interval with Harris Duffy providing the assist on this occasion and a further six minutes later Westwaters was well placed to smash the ball home from close range after Beveridge could only parry Ross Hain's effort into the path of the Hibs' nr11 to complete an eighteen minute hat-trick.

To their credit the East Lothian side managed to get themselves back into the game with goals from Charlie Wilson (64mins) and Scott Moffat (75 mins) however 'normal service' was resumed late in the game with the Hibs regaining their four goal advantage thanks to goals from Daniel McNab (on his 200th appearance for the club) and Keir Allan.
