With Garry Thomson on holiday, Ben Anthony took good care of his Nr10 jersey by finding the back of the net no fewer than seven times at Cupar Sports Centre. His first came from close range in the 6th minute and it was Matthew Robertson who doubled the Hibs lead with a header in the 31st minute.
That was the end of the first-half scoring but Craig Gilbert's men really went to town after the interval. By the 53rd minute Anthony had netted another two with Craig Begg hitting a consolation goal barely sixty seconds later. Anthony re-established Thornton's four goal advantage in the 58th minute and a minute later made it 6-1 from the penalty spot after Chris Ireland had been brought down.
Jack Wilson netted the Hibs' seventh in the 80th minute with Anthony scoring his sixth and seventh goals in the 84th and 88th minutes.
