Lochore's trialist goalkeeper, Ryan Couser, must've been pleased with his performance as he did everything that was asked of him even though he wasn't called upon to make any top drawer saves.
Thornton had plenty of possession but just couldn't find the back of the net, the closest thing being a shot from Ben Anthony in the 39th minute that rebounded off the upright.
The main talking point in the game came in the 65th minute when Garry Thomson was brought down in the box by Kearyn Hicks. It looked a penalty of the stonewall variety to everyone in Memorial Park (even Lochore people thought so) except to the man whose opinion counts, the referee.
Thornton were reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute following Ben Anthony's rash challenge on Hicks who was able to continue after treatment.
The Hibs may look upon this as two points dropped but it could've been worse because, in stoppage time, Jamie McNeish broke clear but Andy Warrender came to his team's rescue with a great save.
