A goal four minutes into stoppage time prevented Thornton from recording their first midweek win of the season. And once again they failed to end the game with eleven players on the pitch after Mikey Lee & Stuart Drummond both received red cards.
Lee was the first man to get first shot in the showers in the 12th minute following his tackle on Ryan Kerrigan but the Hibs didn't allow this disadvantage to knock them out of their stride with Dale Robertson giving them a 33rd minute with an absolutely belting strike from some distance.
Kirrie equalised on the hour mark when Stuart McKenna struck a beauty from the edge of the box and then in the 78th minute, Drummond was ordered-off for retaliating after John Farquharson had elbowed him in the face although unfortunately the ref and his assistant never spotted the initial incident.
Just two minutes later, the Hibs shrugged off this further setback when Andrew Adam was felled in the area by Ryan Stirton and Adam Drummond netted from the spot.
The assistant referee had already checked his watch several times when Adam Drummond was judged to have brought down Scott Drumm and Farquharson, who could have quite easily been off the pitch, scored to earn his side a draw.
