For the second Saturday on the trot, Thornton drew 1-1 with opposition from across the Forth.
Barry Thomson made two excellent saves to ensure the first-half remained goal-less, the second coming moments before the half-time whistle when he spared Adam Drummond's blushes after John Henderson robbed the Hibs' defender on the edge of the penalty area.
Garry Thomson's 20 yard screamer gave Thornton a 48th minute lead but within five minutes Stuart Macleod levelled affairs from close in.
Stuart Drummond had the ball in the net in the 81st minute only for the ref to blow for offside and three minutes later the Hibs were denied a stonewall penalty when George Bonnar punched a netbound shot from Liam Forbes around the post. The only man that matters – the referee – didn't spot the offence although he must've been the only man in Creamery Park who didn't.
