The Hibs began their pre-season friendlies with a 5-1 victory over Lochore Welfare.
New signing, Liam Forbes, opened the scoring in the 9th minute when visiting keeper, Gary Inglis, smashed a clearance off the in-rushing striker and the ball rebounded into the open goal. Dale Robertson finished off a great move five minutes later to double Thornton's lead.
The visitors reduced the leeway in the 32nd minute through Logan Donaldson but the two-goal advantage was restored seven minutes later when Nathan Feeley did well to set up Daniel McNab who won't score an easier goal all season.
Five minutes into the second-half, Stuart Drummond followed up to net after former Hibs' skipper, Alan McAllister, saw his header saved to increase the lead to three.
The scoring was completed in the 67th minute when Forbes headed home Raymond Crichton's corner-kick.
