The Hibs enjoyed their 14th clean sheet in the league this season as they saw off Forfar Albion at a rain-soaked Memorial Park.
Chris Ireland was brought down by visiting 'keeper, Gary Grant, in the 28th minute and took the resultant penalty himself to open the scoring. In the 39th minute, an absolute zinger from Garry Thomson, who was at least 25 yards from goal when he connected, completed the first-half scoring.
By the 54th minute it was 3-0 and it was Thomson who found the net again with Ewan Henderson providing the assist.
Eleven minutes from time, Stuart Drummond was brought down in the box by Logan Watt and before the game re-started, Daniel Thomson was ordered-off for making comments that the referee didn't find particularly complimentary.
Thomson took this opportunity to claim his third hat-trick of the season and also his 99th goal in a Hibs' jersey. Can he reach 'The Ton' in Thornton's last game of the season next Saturday? Get yourself down to Memorial Park to hopefully see Thomson strike gold!
