A goal in each half from Garry Thomson secured the three points that allowed Craig Gilbert to celebrate his 100th victory in the league as the Hibs' gaffer. But the margin of victory could and should have been greater after they dominated the first-half but only had Thomson's 4th minute strike to show for their efforts.
Josh Gorton saved Chris Ireland's 47th minute penalty, awarded after Thomson had been brought down, and this appeared to give Scone a lift as they enjoyed far more possession than they had in the opening forty-five.
Awful defending allowed Thomson to smash home the second in the 75th minute and effectively kill the game.
Late on, the home side were reduced to ten men when Stephen Moon was ordered off for a second cautionable offence.
