Thornton Hibs maintained their 100% start to the season with a hard earned victory at a well manicured North End Park.
Good goalkeeping at both ends ensured there was no scoring until the 40th minute when the visitors took full advantage of slack defensive play as Garry Thomson snr eventually punished The Dokens with a crisply struck low drive from 15 yards.
North End had a lot of the ball in the second-half but couldn't fashion a goal and they came perilously close to going two down when more poor defending was almost punished with Shaun Keatings, on his competitive debut, just off target with a shot from fully 45 yards.
A brave save from Dean Gear prevented Ross Sievwright from getting the chance to claim an equaliser before, late on, Raymond Crichton sealed the three points for Craig Gilbert's men with a low drive from 22 yards.
