It was bottom versus top when these two met for the Hibs' last home game of the season, but there was next to nothing between the teams in this end to end clash except for the only statistic that counts ā goals.
John Anderson's 36th minute pass was perfect for Robbie Holden to run onto and he coolly slid the ball below the Hibs' trialist goalkeeper.
Chris Dodd came close to doubling this lead in the 49th minute with a strike from the angle that came off the crossbar but the next goal came at the other end in the 76th minute. After Mathew Gay's fierce drive was blocked, the ball fell to Chris Ireland and he wasted no time in blasting the ball low beyond Mark Mitchell. Jeanfield regained the lead just two minutes later when Fraser Smith set up Swifts' long serving Tony Holt to smash the ball home.
Mitchell made a smart save to push Stuart Drummond's netbound header onto the top of the bar as Thornton pushed for another equaliser but the only other goal went to the Perth man, Keith Dewar, who netted with five minutes remaining.
