Make no mistake, this scoreline did not flatter Arniston because Thornton, with one or two exceptions, played like they'd never seen a ball before this game.
Kieran Somerville gave the home side a 19th minute lead with a simple tap-in and by the 36th minute Lumbert Kateleza doubled this advantage with a clever clip over the advancing Dion Gear.
Kateleza turned provider four minutes before the interval with a pass for Kyle Doig to make it three and by then the ref could've spared the Hibs the misery of having to play the second-half.
That there was only two further goals – Adam Murray (47 mins) and Kieran Somerville (80mins) – was down to last ditch defending and slack finishing as the margin of victory could quite easily have been doubled.
