When the referee sounded his whistle for half-time seconds after Kevin Byers had equalised Garry Thomson's headed opener for the Hibs in the 15th minute, no one could've predicted what was to develop in the second-half as Star put Thornton to the sword.
Almost straight from the re-start, Keiran Band put Star in front and in the 65th minute the former Hibs' player, Kyle Wilson, doubled the home side's lead and his 'reward' for this was to be substituted by Lyall Shaw.
Just four minutes later, another ex-Hibs' man, Chris Gay, made it four following good play from Chris Lornie and by the 77th minute Shaw netted the fifth.
The best was saved for last though as Brodie Gray's stunning finish in the last minute completed the rout.
