Both teams could quite justifiably claim that they should have taken three points from this game so perhaps, over the piece, a draw might be seen as a fair result. With injuries taking their toll, it was a patched-up Hibs who took to the field although by the 61st minute they'd used their full quota of substitutes.

There were chances at both ends before Tommy Carr broke the deadlock in the 25th minute. Stuart Drummond's long pass into the box wasn't dealt with by the West End defence and when the ball eventually came out to Carr, he lashed it high into the net for his first goal in a Hibs' jersey.

Soon after, Matthew Ramsay came close to claiming an equaliser with a volley that rattled off the crossbar but there was to be no more scoring in an eventful first-half.

Forfar came out flying at the beginning of the second-half and Kyle Marley pulled off a fine save to deny Matthew Reynolds before Scott Fullerton's shot took the paint off the outside of the upright.

When Chris Ireland was set-up by Greig Renton, he looked odds-on to double the Hibs' lead however his powder-puff attempt was easily smothered by Darryl Burns.

The home side levelled affairs in the 69th minute when Matthew Ramsay's free-kick was deftly head-flicked into the net by Daryl McKenzie.
