If you were a Kennoway Star supporter you would think that your team deserved their victory. However, if you were a Thornton supporter you would think that your team deserved a draw after the gutsy second-half display when they finished the game with 9 players.
Kennoway Star fully deserved their interval lead with their goal coming from Ryan Thomson in the 20th minute who shot high into the net at the back post.
In their two previous games, the Hibs hadn’t finished the game with a full quota of players and it was a case of déjà vu at Treaton Park as Adam Drummond got first shot of the hot water when his 46th minute challenge on Liam Craig was deemed worthy of a second yellow card.
Despite this handicap, the Hibs equalised through Lee White in the 55th minute when he shot low into the corner of the net from 15 yards.
Short-staffed Hibs brought on a young trialist but within minutes he was shown a red card for what the ref considered to be an illegal challenge.
The home side threw everything at the Hibs defence in their attempt to win the game and just as it looked as if the visitors would hold out, Ryan Robertson scored deep into ‘Fergie Time’. There was only time for Thornton to kick-off before the final whistle was sounded.
