Coco Mullen’s brace earned Thornton Hibs their first victory since the 5th of January.
His first came in the 27th minute when he headed home Ian Main’s long crossfield pass.
He almost made it two five minutes later when he displayed great skills to get round a Bankies’ defender but Scott Christie pulled off an equally impressive save to deny the Hibs’ striker.
Christie was powerless though to prevent Mullen heading home Ian Main’s 33rd minute corner-kick for his and the Hibs’ second.
Two minutes into the second-half, Main ought to have claimed his first goal in a green jersey but he shot wide following excellent wing play from Kyle Wilson.
In the 51st minute, Bradley Grieve brought down David Fyffe in the box leaving Stevie Crichton with no option but to point to the spot. Mark Rowbotham, though, enhanced his reputation as ‘The Penalty King’ as he brilliantly saved Stephen Moon’s spot kick.
Deep into stoppage time, Bankies’ substitute, Blair Potter, netted a consolation goal.
