Garry Thomson salvaged a point for the Hibs with a late equaliser at Humbug Park.
Two trialists began the game for the visitors and both can be well pleased with their first appearance in a Hibs’ jersey. One of them was a goalkeeper and his first job was to pick the ball out of the back of the net in the 3rd minute. To be fair it was a pretty decent strike from David Clark and not many – if any – goalies would’ve kept it out.
There’s no doubt the Thornton ‘keeper was the busier of the two and he made some very good saves to keep the score as it was.
Just as it looked like Davie McNeely’s side would take all three points, Thomson burst through to drive the ball low beyond Dale Wotherspoon.
