Thornton Hibs completed their pre-season preparations when they took on Bowhill Rovers in the final of the Dundonald Bluebell tournament.
Chris Hindley's 55th minute header was the only goal of the game which meant the Kingdom Caledonian League side, well managed by Geordie Byers, were the winners of the tournament.
This was one of those days when the Hibs just couldn't find the back of the net with numerous goal-line clearances as well as a ball coming back off the post. It was by no means one way traffic though and Scott Russell made a brilliant save to deny Spud Reilly whose first time shot from outside the area will be as sweet as any he'll hit the whole season.
